Position Description

§ This position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical services to all departments in a manufacturing environment.

§ This position will support three plant locations in the Grand Rapids/Kentwood area. Travel between plants will be required.

Essential Job Functions

§ Assist with greeting and directing visitors.

§ Answer phone calls and take messages for appropriate parties.

§ Assist with inbound and outbound mailing.

§ Perform general office duties including ordering supplies, brand items, etc.

§ Actively support and organize employee engagement activities including birthday lunches, retirement celebrations, visitor luncheons and seasonal events.

§ Encourage and lead community outreach and engagement activities including employee volunteering opportunities, local fundraisers, and employment opportunities.

§ Assist the Human Resources department in various areas including recruiting, onboarding, and benefits.

§ Identify and resolve problems.

§ Work to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements.

§ Continuously strive for operational excellence and continuous improvement.

§ Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Skills

§ High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED) is required.

§ Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an accredited college/ university is preferred.

§ 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

§ Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.

§ Strong analytical capabilities.

§ Strong interpersonal skills and independent problem resolution.

§ Data access/retrieval skills with experience in data analysis, data manipulation using MS Excel and/or other tools as provided.

§ Proficiency with Microsoft applications with emphasis on Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project

Physical Requirements

§ Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephone.

§ Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

§ Ability to lift up to 25lbs with or without accommodation.
