Robert Half Assistant Controller in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Description We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role involves overseeing financial activities and conducting various accounting duties within our company. You will be in charge of managing customer applications, maintaining detailed records, and handling customer inquiries.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing and managing customer credit applications, ensuring they are processed both accurately and efficiently.

• Maintaining detailed and accurate customer credit records.

• Handling customer inquiries and resolving them in a timely and professional manner.

• Monitoring customer accounts and taking necessary actions when required.

• Conducting month-end close processes and adjusting journal entries as needed.

• Performing account reconciliation and preparing financial statements.

• Conducting monthly variance analysis to identify financial status and trends.

• Assisting in financial forecasting and budgeting to help guide company decisions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to process, analyze and report financial information.

• Continuously improving processes and systems to increase efficiency in financial operations. Requirements • Proficiency in Month End Close activities

• Profound knowledge in Adjusting Journal Entries

• Skilled in Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Financial Statement Preparation

• Familiarity with Monthly Variance Analysis

• Ability to perform Financial Forecast

• Expertise in Budgeting and Forecasting

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Proven experience in a similar role, Assistant Controller or other relevant roles

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• High level of professionalism and ethical standards

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
