State Heat Treating Heat Treat Shift Lead - 2nd Shift in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Beneifts: Medical, dental, vision, 401K and PTO after 90 days.

Heat Treating Experience Preferred

Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of all employees on the shift. To maintain maximum output. Responsible for training shift production personnel in furnace operation, part handling, safety, and company policies. Evaluates production personnel performance and handles all disciplinary action.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Administers and prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow

Issues written and oral instructions

Responsible for making final decisions in the absence of management

Trains subordinates in proper use of equipment, policies, procedures, and documents all disciplinary actions

Responsible for performance of personnel ensure quality in accordance to policies and procedures

Recommends and implements ideas for improving production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product

Perform rate studies and observe operations to improve efficiency

Evaluates and responds to quality and production problems. Properly documents actions

Audits performance of equipment to determine fitness for production by performing Dew Point Check-Furnace temperature surveys and capability surveys

Conforms and enforces to all policies and procedure of the company

Performs added tasks as work flows allow

Supervisor Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in various departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
