The Grand Rapids Plant Controller, will support the ISC Finance Leader for Applied and Plant Manager as the finance partner for operational performance, compliance, and implementation of process improvements for the Grand Rapids, Michigan manufacturing facility which is part of the Commercial HVAC Applied business unit

Where is the work:

Onsite:

This position has been designated as On-Site at our manufacturing location in Grand Rapids, MI.

What you will do:

Oversee and manage team to support the location. This includes the following:

  • Lead the financial activities within the factory operations, including annual strategy and operating plans, quarterly reports, and special requests, providing commentary and explanation where required. Drive cost reductions and ensure claimed or forecasted cost reductions have or will impact operating income.

  • Serve as business partner to the Plant GM and plant management team to provide operational and strategic guidance as required.

  • Ensure that proper processes are in place for the accurate forecasting of sales, costs, working capital, fixed capital investments and return on investment

  • Ensure that corporate reporting requirements are met in a timely fashion and in accordance with U.S. GAAP and other appropriate requirements, and that the business complies with components of Sarbanes-Oxley, especially for FICAP, SIC, SOX, FCPA and local statutory and tax requirement.

  • Ensure compliance and adequate controls are in place through partnership with operations to support internal and external audit requirements

  • Review and validate reported productivity and inflation to ensure accuracy and connectivity with financial results

  • Mentor, coach, develop and assist the financial site staff

  • Drive adoption of analytics and self-service reporting

  • Participate in or lead other projects as necessary

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; advanced degree or professional certification desired (CMA, CFA, CPA).

  • 10 years manufacturing accounting experience; cost accounting experience preferred

  • 5% Travel Required

Key Competencies:

  • Leadership in interpreting, administering and driving fiduciary responsibility in the implementation of accounting policies and regulations is a must.

  • Ability to translate business and strategic goals into action plans is required.

  • Ability to work well and influence others in a matrix management environment with accountability to cross-functional partners is a key competency.

  • A deep and broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, generally accepted accounting practices/principles, financial policies and regulatory requirements/issues is required.

  • Other competencies include a high level of integrity, superior leadership, communication, analytics, change management skills, and the ability to motivate and lead in a dynamic environment. A superior level of computer and systems literacy is required with particular emphasis on Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), ORACLE or an equivalent ERP/manufacturing application, Alteryx and Tableau a plus.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $130,000-$170,000Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
