Peckham Inc. - Security Clearance Specialist

SUMMARY

The Security Clearance Specialist position supports effective administration of U.S. Government Security Clearance programs on Peckham Contact Center Solutions contracts to ensure physical security requirements are maintained across Contact Center Solutions to prevent unauthorized access to personnel, equipment, information and other assets. This position requires someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, excels at multi-tasking, has strong interpersonal organizational and critical thinking skills, and is compassionate and discreet with confidential information.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers Federal security clearance processes in support of a U.S. Government contract including the collection and submission of required forms and electronic fingerprint scans.

  • Establish e-APP/NBIS access for applicants and registration codes as needed for all applicants.

  • Coordinate, train and assist applicants with completing security questionnaires and seeking government guidance when/if needed.

  • Monitor and track security clearance approvals, denials, interim statuses for Peckham and subcontractor employees.

  • Manage all functions of the secure portal (NBIS) for Contact Center Solutions

  • Monitor, track, and document government background investigation and authorization statuses for Peckham and subcontractor employees, including Moderate Risk Public Trust [MRPT]

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inform applicants of background investigation and authorization approvals and denials.

  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders across Peckham, Inc. including contract leads, vocational services specialists, community engagement specialists and others as needed.

  • Work with VSS to assist applicants with Freedom of Information Act requests concerning security denials.

  • Monitor and enforce the Secure Floor Policy.

  • Enroll individuals for government ID’s (i.e. FLAC).

  • Accurately document, enter data, verify, and track required security information across multiple systems.

  • Coordinate regular reporting in conjunction with Contact Center Solutions Senior Manager to monitor submission timeliness and accuracy

  • Develop understanding of Government security policies and best practices; (Department of State [DoS] security requirements and the government MRPT investigation process).

  • Assist in updating work instructions and personnel security processes and procedures

  • Maintain understanding of confidentiality requirements and best practices; ability to consistently maintain confidentiality of personal, corporate, and government security clearance information; specifically, Personal Identifiable Information [PII].

  • Utilize a collaborative team approach for all projects.

  • Assure applicants provide proper information needed for security clearances and inform applicants of security clearance status.

  • Maintain safe and clean work environment.

  • Promote Peckham’s vision values and services to all customers and stakeholders.

  • Assist in maintaining organizational wide quality standards.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility

  • Develop a unified team that reflects Peckham’s culture and values

  • Provide mentorship and coaching

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to security clearances.

  • Ability to pass federal and state security background checks, obtain and maintain federal and state security clearances including DoD Secret, Industrial Security Clearance, DoD IT 2, and Public Trust.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience OR associates degree and 5-6 years of experience

  • Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to various sites throughout Michigan

  • Experienced in senior level writing forms, having the ability to demonstrate advanced written and verbal communications.

  • Ability to interact professionally with supervisor, subordinates, other co-workers and public.

  • Ability to consistently maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and appropriately deal with Personal Identifiable Information [PII].

  • Ability to express ideas and facts in a clear and understandable manner, tailoring communication to the intended audience.

  • Ability to positively handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day, and the flexibly to handle multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.

  • Expertise of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and web-based data management tools

  • Ability to develop training materials and present information in a classroom setting.

  • Ability to operate basic security equipment and systems.

  • Understanding of U.S. Government security policies and practices, especially Department of State and Department of Defense
