Student Employment Coordinator - Part time

Department: Student Employment Services

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

The Student Employment Coordinator will have the primary responsibility of assisting in all aspects of the on campus student employment program. This includes managing the student employment job posting system, referring candidates to positions. creating and facilitating supervisor and student employee training sessions, assisting with the coordination of the Community Service Work Study program, and with the coordination of on campus employment related events and recognition programs.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage the online student employment job posting system and assist supervisors with the job posting process • Refer candidates to on campus positions • Create and facilitate supervisor and student employee training sessions • Coordinate on campus employment recruitment events • Assist with the coordination of the Community Service Work Study program • Monitor student work study awards • Assist students with the on campus job search process • Coordinate student employee recognition program and events • Monitor the Intent to Hire spreadsheet and assist with processing new hire paperwork • Assist Associate Director with Student Employee Handbook and Supervisor Manual updates • Create advertising materials and update webpage and SES social media as needed • Back up-front desk as needed • Support SES sponsored events as needed • Other responsibilities as assigned by Associate Director • Follow College policy on the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA).

Job Specifications

Education

• Minimum of Associate's Degree or equivalent of education and experience required

Work Experience

• 2 years professional experience required • Experience successfully planning and managing large events preferred

Skills

• Excellent organizational skills • Attention to detail • Strong customer service skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Occasionally the employee must lift or move up to 15 pounds.
