Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of all off-site testing labs and hospital point of care testing (poct). Responsible for coordinating competency in testing and assures testing meets the accreditation requirements from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), CLIA, and JCAHO. Coordinates inventory, reviewing of quality control values, and maintenance records. Serves as a consultant to others regarding accrediting agency compliance for poct. Serves as a leader in the processes to train trainers, maintain, or change poct instruments and processes. Responsible for coaching, counseling, evaluation of Technologists that work at the off-site labs.

Position Qualifications

Education Minimum: Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology with clinical internship.

Credentials/Licensure: Minimum: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification

Related Experience: Three years hospital lab experience.

Preferred: Experience includes coordinating point of care testing along with general lab testing.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum: Experience in coordinating people in the performance of testing and be able to troubleshoot instruments or testing devices.

Preferred: One to three year experience of being in charge of staff.
