International Recruitment Officer, Europe

Reporting to the Regional Director (RD) Europe, the International Recruitment Officer (RO), Europe is primarily responsible for supporting the implementation of tactical and strategic international recruitment efforts in designated territory and channels within Europe for students entering the SGU Doctor of Medicine degree program on our campuses in Grenada and UK. This position is responsible for achieving, within agreed budgets, agreed recruitment targets from the designated territory and channel and supplying critical market feedback for the further development of SGU initiatives and recruitment.

Essential Functions
  • Support SGU's recruitment initiatives through Agency, Feeder, and Direct channels.

  • Meet recruitment targets with minimal acquisition costs and within ROI parameters.

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of SGU and comparative education systems, effectively presenting SGU's value proposition through proposals and presentations.

  • Collaborate closely with SGU’s agencies and feeder schools, making regular visits to maintain relationships, establish new contacts, and expand the active agent network.

  • Provide regular and relevant training to counsellors, ensuring agencies and schools are well-prepared to offer accurate advice to prospective students.

  • Coordinate participation in exhibitions, recruitment fairs, school events, and SGU information sessions as needed.

  • Attend exhibitions and recruitment events, offering professional educational advice and counseling to schools, agencies, students, and their sponsors.

  • Meet and counsel prospective students and their sponsors both online and in person, delivering professional educational advice and counseling services.

  • Follow up with existing leads, cold call new leads, and accurately report activities in the CRM.

  • Contribute to the recruitment team effort across Europe where required and when there is a periodic need or shortage of staff and helping in multiple channels as required.

  • Work in close partnership with all SGU’s international Regional Managers to ensure collaborative management of prospective students and agencies to maximise global recruitment opportunities.

  • Manage the initial application process from prospective students, and in close association with your line-manager and the Admissions Officer ensuring a seamless process , via CRM.

  • Explore new recruitment opportunities, maintain current efforts, and provide accurate reporting

  • Regularly update line managers with reports, market updates, and performance metrics against targets.

  • Conduct market research and provide feedback and analysis to guide key activities in the designated market.

  • Establish strong relationships with SGU departments (admissions, sales, operations, marketing, academic) to ensure exceptional customer service, efficiency, and problem resolution.

  • Keep local information on Medical Associations, rules, and regulations up to date, and inform SGU functional areas and the line manager accordingly.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Student recruitment background or related (example: Admissions).

  • Sales experience general.

  • Demonstrable sales & commercial skills.

  • Understanding of agency and school recruitment channels.

  • Experience of working within an international environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of dealing directly with a wide variety of people including students and their sponsors, education agencies and institutions.

  • Ability to make connections and good networking skills.

  • Able to work independently and as a team player, with a high level of initiative and professionalism.

  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and thrive under pressure.

  • A friendly professional manner and appearance.

  • Results orientated, target driven.

  • Track record of success in recruitment in region with regard to annual student targets.

    Qualifications

  • 1-3 years working in the international education industry and recruitment.

  • Fluent English.

  • Degree Educated.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • This job is performed in a positive, creative and collaborative environment.

  • Office location: Designated region or city.

    Hours and Travel

  • Travel will be required across UK (and possibly within Europe) regions and cities.

  • Unsociable and weekend work required at certain periods.

  • Annual recruitment target (individual) and overall team and region targets.

  • Active agency and feeder school portfolio development.

  • Application generation and conversion.

  • Work closely, professionally and in an efficient manner with colleagues to ultimately help achieve European recruitment target.
