DUTIES: The primary responsibilities of a General Laborer in a Die Room is to ensure that parts are set up and operate conventional and special purpose machines to fabricate parts to customer specifications. Operator will be required to set-up, operate, and to adjust machines and equipment to produce a good quality product. Examples of machines and equipment are, but not limited to mill, lathes and other departmental equipment as required. Processes performed will be, but not limited to, inspecting, gauging, counting, mill, saw, moving materials or parts through shop, sorting, and stacking. Operator may be required to make visual inspections, separate parts, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required. Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines. Fabricate equipment parts and variety of die parts. Use manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, duplicating or profile machines or grinders. Maintain machine shop tools, equipment and inventory. Set up and operate typical machine shop machine tools, producing parts to tolerances and company specifications. Perform secondary operations on parts made on machines. Perform routine machine maintenance on machines and other equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. SCHEDULE: Monday Thursday 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with overtime as needed on Fridays ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Basic knowledge of quality control, materials and productions processes. Basic knowledge of mill, saw, lathes, etc Bi-lingual of English and Spanish preferred but not required. Verbal communication is clear, concise, pleasant tone. Ability to grind machine parts to specifications. Ability to operate machine tools to produce precision metal parts.
