JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position would assume all lead duties, as well as general mechanic duties. Under supervision, performs repair, routine and preventive maintenance on all facility equipment insuring that all systems and equipment remain operational on a consistent basis. Primary location: Courthouse Square Pay rate: \$26.04/hr (base rate) + \$2/hr (lead pay) Essential Duties Performs basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Installs, troubleshoots, diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs all types of mechanical equipment. Performs P.M. duties as scheduled. Installs, troubleshoots and repairs air conditioning and refrigeration systems and all related equipment. Operates, monitors, adjusts, cleans, troubleshoots, diagnoses, inspects and tests boilers and related equipment. Installs, troubleshoots and repairs plumbing systems. Performs carpentry involving the repairs, construction and modification of offices, building structures and other office equipment. Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches and specifications. Maintains and operates grounds related equipment such as snowplows, snowblowers, lawnmowers, etc. Prepares and maintains required reports and forms. Assists in budget preparation for maintenance operation. Performs related functions as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment required for the maintenance, alteration and repair of buildings and facilities. Knowledge of basic welding techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot with the use of diagnostic instruments. Ability to read and work from blueprints, diagrams and service manuals. Ability to work off ladders, scaffolds and lifts. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work cooperatively with administration, staff and the public. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
