JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties and Responsibilties of Job: Overview Green Bay Dressed Beef Processing, an American Foods Group company has an opportunity for a Part-Time Laboratory Technician I at our East River plant i n Green Bay, WI . Schedule: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Summary Prepare samples for analytical, microbiological, chemical, and pathogenic testing of meat and environmental samples. The role is responsible for the application of approved microbiological, chemical, and pathogenic methodologies used in testing. As a Part-Time Laboratory Technician I you will: * Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries. * Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload. * Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily testing. * Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements. * Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal. * Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, running media controls, etc. * Maintain laboratory condition, to include equipment, supplies, and accurately records. throughout all procedures. * Perform all activities in an organized, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner. * Be open in communication. * Assist with managing priorities so team goals are achieved. * Responsible for the safety of oneself and others working within their area. * Responsible for the completion of required training. * NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications (Required): * Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship. * Associate degree in science or a related field. * Must be able to effectively communicate (speaking, reading, writing) in English. * Must be able to successfully complete training: * Safety. * Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). * Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor\'s degree in science or related field. * Prior laboratory experience. * Demonstrated broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required. * Ability to analyze data and prepare effective reports. * Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces, and around moving equipment and parts. * Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other computer components. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products up to 25 pounds and the ability to walk safely on the production floor and through a manufacturing facility.
