    P rimary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain driver safety standards and a safety-focused culture in line with regulatory and company policies.

  • Design and implement a comprehensive driver training curriculum and certification process, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.

  • Oversee the planning, acquisition, and deployment of all distribution assets, including but not limited to tractors, trailers, cranes, trucks, forklifts, moffetts, and man lifts.

  • Create and manage the capital plan for distribution assets, ensuring optimal performance.

  • Manage preventative maintenance and inspection programs for each asset type.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with asset and repair vendors, serving as the primary liaison for the enterprise.

  • Deploy and manage fleet GPS and drive cam systems.

  • Oversee logistics partners, 3PL, rental/lease networks, lane establishments, and triggers.

  • Manage all DOT compliance tasks related to the distribution fleet, including permits, maintenance logs, MCS-150, UCR, IRP, and IFTA.

  • Develop and be accountable for key distribution operation metrics, setting monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.

  • Lead the development of best practices and standard operating procedures for trailer “cube out” and asset utilization, collaborating with design, production, service center, and field operations.

    R equired Education/Experience

  • Bachelors in Supply Chain or preferred / equivalent degree

    Required Skillsets

  • In-depth knowledge of fleet management and operations, including vehicle maintenance, procurement, and logistics .

  • Understanding of DOT regulations and compliance requirements .

  • Strong analytical abilities to assess fleet performance, manage budgets, and optimize operations.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address and resolve operational challenges.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with drivers, vendors, and upper management.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills to oversee and motivate a diverse team .

  • Ability to identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with asset vendors .

  • Familiarity with fleet management software and GPS systems.

  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage schedules, maintenance, and compliance tasks.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients and partners.
