Title: Information Technology Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Provisioning, Installation/configuration, and testing of systems and supporting Infrastructure.

  •  Ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our systems while also providing technical support to our internal teams.

  •  Work with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.

Activities:

Engineering and Provisioning:

  •  Administer Windows servers and Active Directory, including user management, group policies, security, and system configurations.

  •  Develop and maintain VMware virtualization, infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines.

  •  Configure and maintain Linux servers, ensuring high availability and performance.

  •  Implement and maintain security measures across all systems, including access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection.

  •  Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement IT solutions that meet business needs.

  •  Provide technical support and guidance to junior administrators and end-users.

  •  Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Operations and Support:

  •  Monitor system performance and security, identifying and addressing issues proactively.

  •  Oversee Cisco telephony systems, including VoIP configuration, call routing, and troubleshooting.

  •  Execute and improve disaster recovery testing for infrastructure and critical applications to ensure operational requirements are met during a disaster.

  •  Maintain systems based on best p actices and operational needs.

  •  Maintain lifecycle of systems and applications from implementation to decommission.

  •  Participate in infrastructure support and on call rotation.

Maintenance:

  •  Apply patches and upgrades for OS, firmware, tools, utilities, and drivers on a regular basis.

  •  Document and maintain operations, configurations, and procedures.

  •  Monitor systems to ensure appropriate uptime.

  •  Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.

  •  Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

Skill, Capability and Educational Requirements:

Required Skills, Capabilities, and Educational Requirements:

  •  5 years of system administration experience including enterprise scale management.

  •  Proficiency in administering Windows servers and Active Directory.

  •  Extensive experience with VMware virtualization technology, including ESXi, vCenter Server, and vSphere.

  •  Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, such as Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.

  •  Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  •  Self-starter with critical thinking skills. Ability to problem solve and communicate findings to colleagues and management.

     

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Educational Requirements:

  •  Experience implementing security measures across IT systems, including access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection.

  •  Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN.

  •  Hands-on experience with Cisco telephony systems, including VoIP configuration and troubleshooting.

  •  Strong understanding of multifactor authentication

  •  Industry standard Microsoft and Unix/Linux certifications, a plus.

  •  Experience providing consulting services to Fortune / Global 1000 clients and/or domain experience within relevant industry verticals such as Manufacturing, etc.
