CITY OF GREENFIELD Civil Engineer in Greenfield, Indiana

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled City Engineer to join our team. The City Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing various engineering projects within the city, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee city infrastructure projects from concept to completion

  • Draft plans and specifications for construction projects

  • Conduct inspections and provide recommendations for maintenance or improvements

  • Collaborate with Departments and external stakeholders on project requirements

  • Utilize software such as Civil 3D and AutoCAD for project design and documentation

  • Ensure projects adhere to budget constraints and timelines

-Serve as a Plan Commission Member

-Administrator for the Storm Water Utility

-Prepare and submit yearly budget proposal and approve expenditures.

-Acquire right of ways, easements and other land needed for public works projects

-Assist Mayor, Board of Works and City Council in developing long range planning strategies

-Supervises and directs personnel

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

  • Proficiency in Civil Engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam

  • Experience in project engineering and construction management

  • Ability to interpret and apply local building codes and regulations

  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders
