Allegion CNC Operator in Greenfield, Indiana

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and grinders.

  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine machine setup and operation.

  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.

  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and make necessary adjustments.

  • Inspect finished parts for quality and adherence to specifications using precision measuring tools

  • Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and parts gauges.

  • Use computer to document production activities and maintain accurate records of work performed.

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to optimize production processes.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Perform work as needed on non-automated and non-programmable equipment such as the saw, dedicated drilling, and punching equipment.

  • Work from work boards, Kanban cards or by direction to process part lots; checks work from samples, work instructions, gauges or story boards to maintain specified tolerances or quantity levels.

  • Provide training for lesser skilled operators.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and technical certification in CNC machining preferred.

  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.

  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine operations.

  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

  • Perform quality inspections/Total Quality Check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 pounds from floor to waist or waist to shoulder.

  • Ability to occasionally push and/or pull up to 70 pounds and periodically greater than 70 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.

  • Ability to work in a noisy environment with exposure to coolants and lubricants.

  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.

  • Ability to operate material handling equipment within manufacturer’s height and weight requirements and guidelines for operators.
