The Assistant Property Accountants support the Operations Accounting Department with the reconciliation of bank accounts, initiation of fund transfers, performance of certain closing duties and administration of other tasks.

    What you’ll do to make a difference:

  • Reconcile property bank accounts by stated deadlines using Blackline tool where possible

  • Record bank rec entries, process moveout transfers and follow-up on site-initiated corrections

  • Initiate electronic fund transfers after obtaining appropriate approvals and in coordination with Cash Management team

  • Assist with preparation and submission of check requests

  • Schedule Yardi financial reports to run according to financial statement deadlines

  • Update monthly mortgage tracker used to create accrual and payment journal entries

  • Assist with preparation of monthly property workpapers where applicable

  • Assist Director and VP of Operations Accounting with administration of Property Tax Tracker to ensure it is properly and timely updated by Property Accountants

  • Gather documentation required for replacement reserve draws and annual audit and tax requests under supervision of Operations Accounting management

  • Review Operations Accounting mail and route to appropriate team members

  • Scan checks received at Corporate Office for deposit to property bank accounts

  • Monitor Service Now tickets to address or escalate as appropriate, including submission of void check requests

  • Additional duties as assigned

    What you bring to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, related field or equivalent work plus college

  • 2 years bookkeeping or Accounting experience preferred

  • Must be proficient with MS Office, including Excel

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required

  • Ability to demonstrate the Bell Core Values

  • Must demonstrate ability to provide exceptional customer service

  • Must demonstrate ability to successfully work on a team

  • Must be resourceful and well organized
