To provide oversight in various accounting areas within the Comptroller’s area.

The position would be tasked with providing stronger direction and increased fiscal integrity to the Treasurer’s office, Foundation Accounting Office and other areas, thereby ensuring efficient management of financial resources, adherence to regulatory requirements, and the implementation of best practices in financial governance.

This includes overseeing the cash processes, optimizing cash flow management, and enhancing transparency and accountability in the assigned offices.

Additionally, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing financial performance and mitigating risks. By establishing robust internal controls and monitoring financial operations closely, the position will contribute to the University’s overall financial stability and success.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

The mission of the Comptroller’s Office is to provide an effective and efficient financial reporting and cash management/disbursement operation within the Division of Business and Finance, which supports the instructional and research mission of the University.

The mission of the Division of Business and Finance is to be student-centered while maintaining fiscal integrity and providing quality support services to faculty, staff, and external customers.

Requirements:

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a related degree in accounting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

All degrees must be received from an appropriately accredited institution.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of financial management experience in a large, complex, organization.

Direct experience in financial management and foundation accounting.

  • Experience in finance and or cash management, accounting.

    This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
