North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Lab Manager for Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description:

The Lab Manager for Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering oversees the daily operations and long-term planning of the Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering laboratories within the Department of Chemical, Biological, and Bioengineering in the College of Engineering. This role includes maintaining lab equipment, ensuring safety protocols, managing lab schedules, supporting faculty and students in lab classes and research activities, and coordinating with external vendors. The Lab Manager will play a crucial role in fostering a productive and safe learning environment for CBBE students. The position reports to the department chair.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

North Carolina A&T State University is a public, doctoral high research land-grant University that enrolls over 13,530 students. The College of Engineering, with over 2,300 students, has EAC ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bio-, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a CAC ABET -accredited program in Computer Science. On the Graduate level, the College has 8 Masters of Science Degree programs, and 5 Doctoral programs distributed across its seven departments. The five research cluster areas of the College of Engineering ( COE ) are Autonomous Systems, Cybersecurity and Resilience, Energy and Sustainability, Healthcare Applications and Complex Systems and Networks; where the COE welcomes faculty dedicated to engaged teaching, innovative research, and who thrive in an environment that embraces diversity and inclusion within the student body, faculty, and staff. The Department of Chemical, Biological, and Bioengineering offers ABET -accredited Bachelors of Science programs in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Biological Engineering, and offers Masters of Science programs in Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering. The Department has 12 full-time faculty members in engineering, 4 staff members. Major research includes the NSF Engineering Research Center for Revolutionizing Metallic Biomaterials, the NSF CREST Bioenergy Center, the NSF RED project “A Revolution in Engineering Education Motivated by Needs and Designs,” and the US Army-funded Biotechnology Center. Educational and research programs in the Department emphasize engineering solutions for problems in healthcare, energy and the environment. Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of general research experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
