Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in High Point, North Carolina, in the construction/contractor industry. This role involves preparing and overseeing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting with audit preparation. As a Sr. Accountant, you will also be responsible for verifying transactions for accuracy and completion, resolving account discrepancies, and assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of all journal entries and ensure their accuracy

• Reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain financial accuracy

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and conduct financial analysis

• Verify transactions for accuracy and completion to maintain financial integrity

• Assist with audit preparation to ensure compliance with financial standards

• Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation and making necessary adjustments

• Analyze financial statements to inform business decisions

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close to ensure timely financial reporting

• Mentor junior staff to foster skill development and knowledge sharing

• Recommend ways to reduce costs and improve efficiencies to optimize business performance.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, ideally within the construction/contractor industry.

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Demonstrated experience in General Ledger management and Journal Entries.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with Month End Close procedures.

• Familiarity with software systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desirable.
