This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

About the Opportunity

The position is in the Real Estate Portfolio group and reports to the Supervisor, Real Estate. The position entails handling 3rd party requests for use or sale of company property from inception to completion, which includes preparing an initial recommendation to management for routing to internal stakeholders for approval. The position will require the review of all conditions identified by internal stakeholders to determine appropriate course of action to satisfy the request, including the sale or lease of company property or the consent for compatible use of company easements.

There is one open position. Preferred reporting location is Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Demonstrates a solid commitment to all aspects of safety
  • Collaborates with staff and project managers to procure necessary agreements to meet needs of the company including supporting new agreements and coordinating due diligence efforts through closure process
  • Gather and review Real Estate records for review to allow for timely and efficient customer response.
  • Reviews, analyzes and negotiates terms of various agreements, including, but not limited to, easements, leases, licenses agreements
  • Acquisition efforts involve reviewing and understanding requirements of stakeholder including: Project Management, Substation and Transmission Engineering, Transmission Maintenance, Regional Engineering, Vegetation Management, Environmental, Siting and Legal.
  • Provide guidance and assist contract resources in support of the Energizing the Future Program.
  • Interfaces with various levels of management within the company, understands work processes and manages each request from inception to conclusion
  • Applies education and experience to work situations, continues skill development and establishes a strong foundation in policies, practices and procedures
  • Develops effective working relationships with employees within own group and establishes solid working relationships throughout the company
  • Anticipates and delivers results to meet internal/external customer needs
  • Assists with department-wide projects and initiatives, including developing and recommending process improvements
  • Maintains the use of company rights, negotiating rents and preparing lease documents

Qualifications include:

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Science-related discipline or relevant work experience
  • Experience with Real Estate matters, Title research, land survey, GIS, utility engineering and construction a plus.
  • Knowledge of FirstEnergy operating territory, building facilities and transmission rights of way is a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to make clear, accurate, and concise presentations, reports, and legal documents
  • Excellent customer relations skills; interpersonal skills with ability to establish rapport with internal and external customers
  • Team-oriented with drive for continuous improvement
  • Ability to comprehend legal documents; familiarity with legal documents such as deeds, easements, leases and licenses
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applica ions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and digital satellite imagery tools
  • Ability to use real estate information technology
  • Familiarity with SAP and Powerplant helpful
