Job Description: Sr. Project Controls Manager (Planner)

How will you make an impact?

The Sr. Project Controls Manager will work in a team environment along with both internal colleagues and external partners to provide daily support and execution of project controls functions for all the CAPEX projects being completed the site. You will supervise and grow the Project Controls team and be responsible for cost, schedule, change control monitoring, analysis, forecasting, and reporting. You and your team will handle overall project cost, schedule, and change controls by supporting project management activities.

Scale of Responsibilities

  • Responsible for strategy input and implementation for complex and strategic categories

  • Delivers key category performance indicators, including savings, supplier rationalization, low-cost region sourcing, risk management, spend under agreement, joint schedule innovation, portfolio performance, etc.

  • Develops multiyear site CAPEX strategies focused on identifying and contracting with selected projects that meet key business category management goals

Technical Responsibilities

  • Applies structured Category Management process to provide recommendations into category strategies

  • Analyzes portfolio intelligence to identify key trends, assesses impact and refines category plans to support business requirements. Competent in projects controls segmentation to optimally focus risk mitigation.

  • Engages and supports division/site procurement teams to qualify key risk & migrate spend from incumbent, poor performance suppliers

  • Analyzes category supplier performance data to find opportunities for supplier performance improvement and to establish continuous improvement goals

  • Leads vendor-based business reviews to drive strategic priorities as well as supervise key performance indicators

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Influences multi-functional colleagues to ensure category strategies and activities are aligned to goals and priorities. Influence without authority

  • Works with external supply partners and leads multi-functional internal teams to advance key business drivers such as supply continuity, quality, cost and operational performance

  • Selectively develop supplier strategic partnerships. Secures capacity with suppliers

  • Collaborates with Procurement Enablement team to develop predictive analytics

Education, Experience and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent combination of experience and education. Master’s Degree preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies, with strong category/business engagement experience

  • Minimum 2 years in a people leadership role

  • Knows how to assess market/business requirements dynamics and negotiate to yield meaningful business value

  • Experience working in highly regulated industries
