We have an immediate need for an Operations Leader. In this role, you will work on our Shroud Repair Team in the Repair Center of Excellence (COE). This COE is a dynamic environment that works closely with manufacturing and the Repair Development Center to develop and qualify new repairs. This position will own safety, quality, cost, and process improvement for all shroud repairs, including legacy (7E/7F) and NPI (7HA) components. This role will also support two fast-paced lean lines giving the candidate the opportunity to grow technical and lean skills. There is an expectation the person who fills this role will help integrate new process on NPI (New Product Introduction) components into the existing lean lines.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supervise the operators of the Shroud Repair department, working as a team to support accountability to each other and our customers.

• Drive job cost out through cost tracking and continuous improvement projects

• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

• Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects with low to medium risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

• Implement, maintain and continuously improve 5S methodology in assigned areas; drive culture change

• Lead Lean/Six Sigma programs by driving and coaching Lean/Six Sigma projects

• Work with internal stakeholders to rework nonconforming material and devise remediation actions

• Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team, to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity

• Apply standard engineering techniques to assigned tasks and ensure that specific goals are met in terms of safety, quality, quantity, and timeliness in order to meet department goals

• Conduct training as required

Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Manufacturing & Operation Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in manufacturing operations).

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical or related fields

  • Prior Gas Turbine component experience and knowledge preferred

  • Prior leadership experience

  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and specifications

  • Ability to plan, communicate and execute

  • Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrated integrity - accepts and adheres to high ethical, moral and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others Inclusive; builds a connection with the team through personal involvement and trust

The base pay range for this position is $80K – $95K USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 8/19/24.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
