Job Summary and Essential Functions :

In this role, the Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology (AMRT) Machining and Technologies Engineer will be responsible for developing, industrializing & globalizing machining processes, technologies, and equipment, on a variety of industrial gas turbine components, to deliver value to our GE Vernova business partners.

This person will execute development and industrialization of GE Vernova machining processes & technologies to improve safety, quality, cycle, and cost to meet our obligations in customer fulfilment, Tx, and NPI execution.

In this role, you will coordinate with global and cross-functional teams to drive new machining processes & technologies in the Gas Power supply chain for new and serviced hardware.

This role will affect short-term and long-term goals.

Essential Functions :

  • Lead the development and global industrialization of new machining processes and technologies that will be utilized in multiple service and new make sites around the globe.

  • Provide technical guidance for engineers and specialist in the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering practices and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

  • Outline and lead development efforts to build hole drilling and hole clearing processes spanning multiple units across the Asia, NAM, and Europe

  • Evaluate, test, and implement gas turbine component manufacturing processes like fast hole drill EDM, milling, grinding, joining and laser ablation for turbine and test hardware.

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

  • Outline resource planning needs to meet prioritized needs across new make and services locations.

  • Recommend approaches to meet the technical and program requirements.

  • Deliver processes to meet service programs, repair & new unit fulfillment and NPI initiatives.

  • Maintain schedules for the project deliverables & communicate progress to all levels of the organization.

  • Design and build / procure necessary tooling and finishing within budgets.

  • Develop new manufacturing techniques and industrialize cutting edge technologies.

  • Support equipment upgrades from purchase through installation.

  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis for changes to processes and/or equipment.

  • Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via process changes or improvements.

  • Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment.

  • Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation.

  • Mentor and train less experienced personnel within the organization.

  • Utilize lean-manufacturing values and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs, and increase capacity

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university/college or an associates degree plus a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing or technical fields.

  • A min. of 5 years of relevant / direct experience within Engineering and manufacturing is required.

  • A min of 5 years of CAD/CAM Skills, proven ability to translate 3D models into tool movement and machine movement that achieves design goals.

Eligibility Requirements :

  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 6 hours per day

  • Willingness and ability to travel to domestic and/or international shops; 15-20%

Desired Characteristics:

  • Prior experience with machine programming, setting up equipment and machining operations such as milling, grinding, fast hole EDM, sinker EDM and/or laser drilling experience.

  • Product expertise in gas turbine or aviation turbomachinery experience

  • Working knowledge of machining technology and the cross functional engineering team

  • Understands business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the targets

  • Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers

  • Knowledge of special processes, such as brazing, welding, machining, chemical cleaning, coating, and tooling design and manufacturing

  • Additional experience in manufacturing and/or component repair for Industrial gas turbine, steam turbines, generators, or Aero engines

  • Ability to manage priorities and achieve results

  • Prior exposure to and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications

  • Machine installation and maintenance

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $85,600.00 - 114,100.00 USD Annual

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive bonus of 10%
