GE Vernova Lead System Engineer – Validation in Greenville, South Carolina

Job Description Summary

The Systems Engineering Validation team is responsible for planning and execution of critical field-testing efforts to deliver certification and design understand to the engineering segment. The team requires a wide range of disciples and focus areas from prototype field operations and instrumentation to modeling and complex data analysis. The Lead Systems Engineers - Validation role focuses on the activities that contribute to the design and development of products, quality solutions and overall component understanding. The desire and ability to own and execute critical testing and data analyst to support product development is required for this position. We are seeking an experienced candidate who can progress forward the processes and test execution approaches for system validation to meet program and product requirements.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordination cross functional design teams to develop and execute validation testing.

  • Ability to direct instrumentation efforts on prototype and customer wind turbines.

  • Manage test programs to ensure the successful execution of the validation plan,

  • Development of test campaign strategy and coordinate execution of field testing to meet various program needs.

  • Ability to maintain clear status and communication to testing stakeholders.

  • Conduct data analysis and/or testing results for internal stakeholders for use in DVR’s, RCA’s, or FMEA assessments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university/college (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of significant experience working in the energy industry)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a system or design related role

  • Experience in project leadership and working in cross functional teams.

  • Interest in working on a cross discipline global team to deliver results.

  • Ability and willingness to travel when appropriate to meet field validation needs.

  • Experience with large data set analysis to drive corrective action or design improvement.

  • Experience in using IMC Famos or MATLAB analysis software, or other data analysis tools.

  • Program or project leadership background.

  • Wind technology architecture knowledge.

  • Desire to drive product understanding and improvements during early life cycle development.
