What You Will Be Doing

As an Operations Engineer at our Greenville site, you will play a key role in the production operations of the F-16 aircraft. You’ll engage in activities that enhance producibility and quality, focusing on areas such as failure analysis, industrial and manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and Lean Six Sigma. You’ll also work on reliability and supplier quality, as well as testing and tooling for F-16 components. Stretch assignments at our Greenville Site Operations may also be part of your dynamic role.

Key Responsibilities

- Improve the producibility and quality of F-16 aircraft components through detailed analysis and corrective actions.

- Implement Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies to streamline manufacturing and production processes.

- Work with quality assurance and engineering teams to ensure efficient and continuous operations.

- Identify root causes of failures and implement solutions to enhance product reliability

- Participate in stretch assignments at the Greenville site to support team goals and personal development.

This position is in Greenville, SC Discover Greenville.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree with 9 years’ experience in a production environment as a manufacturing engineering or Operations Engineer capacity in the Automotive or Aerospace industry.

Experience with analyzing, identifying and resolving Process Variation in a manufacturing environment. Working with other Engineering functions to analyze and solve technical and programmatic occurrences.

Experience with Lean Six Sigma tools and processes in a fast pace production environment. Able to lead and facilitate Kaizen workshops, Value Stream Mapping and other lean tools like DMAIC, A3, FMEA, Daily Management Systems.

Desired Skills:

Knowledge in developing data analytics and metrics for Lean Manufacturing Systems which may include one or more of the following: Value Stream Mapping, Value Added Analysis, Pull and Flow Techniques, Cycle Time Analysis, 6S, PDCA, Error Proofing, Visual Management & Controls.

Must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Previous experience in a military fighter jet production or Commercial Aviation production.

Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization including non-technical personnel.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
