Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Greenville, South Carolina

Description

We are in the search for a meticulous Payroll Specialist to join our client in the greater Greenville, South Carolina area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring precise calculations, and maintaining accurate records. This role also involves coordinating with other departments, handling tax filings, and managing commission administration.

Responsibilities:

• Manage bi-weekly payroll processing in ADP Workforce Now, ensuring the accuracy of employee pay rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, time worked, paid leave, holidays, deductions, and address updates.

• Ensure the correct processing of deductions for taxes, insurance, and 401(k) contributions.

• Handle bi-weekly journal entries, reconciling tax withholdings and benefits, and coordinating with Accounts Payable for health insurance payments.

• Monitor tax filings and manage monthly sales commission administration using Performio, ensuring precise commission payments and data uploads to ADP.

• Calculate and process annual bonus and incentive payments, prepare annual reports for various surveys, and reconcile contractor hours with staffing firm invoices.

• Support the Human Resources team by administering the random drug and alcohol test program.

• Use ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Kronos Timekeeping System, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant software to perform accounting and benefit functions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator

• Proficiency in using payroll software such as ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets and reports

• Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time software

• Familiarity with accounting functions and their application in payroll processes

• Ability to handle benefit functions including enrollment, changes, and terminations

• Experience in check processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with employees and management

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy to handle sensitive payroll information

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding payroll information

• Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
