Job Description:

The Systems Engineer Specialist will be responsible for working closely with the customer to comprehensively design and implement new system functionality. They will write requirements, support development, perform integration testing of new or modified products in a Systems Integration Laboratory and on airborne and ground-based platforms. The Systems Engineering Specialist will verifie and validate new baseline functionality while ensuring legacy functionality continues to work as intended.

Essential Duties:

  • Interface with other Systems Engineers, Agile Development Engineering, Flight Line Test, Product Development, and Project Engineering to understand new baseline functionality.

  • Will work closely with L3Harris Internal Research and Development (IR&D) developing proprietary ELINT technology and capabilities.

  • Follows existing standards to document system testing status and anomalies with system hardware and software and verifies subsequent anomaly fixes.

  • Interfaces with the customer to ensure their satisfaction with system performance.

  • Work with management to develop and adhere to schedules and budgets required to accomplish assigned work.

  • Provide regular status updates for ongoing work efforts to management and the customer.

  • Utilize several online tools including Jira, DOORS, and Confluence.

  • RF design familiarity

  • Ability to make accurate measurements with VNAs, Spec. Analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes etc

  • Understanding of RF communication systems, modulations, encoding and multiplexing.

  • Interferometry.

  • Basic network familiarity and awareness of the OSI model.

  • Comfortable programming (ideally significant MATLAB experience, exposure to C and C++ and possibly Python).

  • In depth knowledge of SIGNIT technologies, specifically ELINT and or COMINT.

  • All phases of the Systems Engineering paradigm.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% (Domestic and international)

  • Read and interpret block diagrams, wire diagrams, mechanical drawings and circuit schematics.

  • Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with four (4) years of prior systems RF and/or Programming experience.

  • OR Graduate Degree in a related field two (2) years of prior systems, RF and/or Programming experience.

  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of prior systems, RF and/or programming experience.

  • Active Secret clearance required at the time of hire. Candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a TS w/SCI.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active Top Secret with SCI.

  • Obtain a class III flight physical.

  • Military or ELINT operator experience.

  • COMINT/ELINT system experience

  • Familiarity with ERP systems specifically SAP.

  • FDTD or MoM modeling experience.

  • Data Reduction.

  • Direction finding calibration.

  • Tracking.

  • Familiarity with parallel computing.

  • Coursework and/or experience in systems engineering, systems architecture, systems analysis and design, system performance modeling, integration and/or project management, and/or model-based systems engineering.

  • Understand basic networking and familiarity with NIST publications .

  • Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.

  • Experience or proficiency with Linux administration, Bash scripting, Windows PowerShell, Windows administration, Nessus, Wireshark, Nmap .

  • Cybersecurity Certification such as Sec+, CASP+, CySA or CISSP.

  • Knowledge/experience in Geo-location technologies.
