Quality Inspector Metal Fabrication - Tymetal Corp.

Tymetal Corp. has an immediate opening on our QA team for a Quality Inspector who takes a tremendous amount of pride in his or her work. This is a second shift position working Monday through Thursday 2 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The Quality Inspector works very closely with the QA Supervisor, the Engineering Manager and the Production Manager to ensure that metal fabrication products are built correctly, with the goal of zero rejects or reworks at the customer site. The Quality Inspector inspects raw materials, fabrication projects in process and finished products. He/she investigates quality issues to determine the root cause and put forth corrective actions in conjunction with the QA Supervisor and Production Manager.

Qualifications:

  • AAS in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years working in a machine shop or metal fabrication shop environment preferred.
  • Experience within an ISO or AISC certified environment preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read complex prints and shop drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with conflict.
  • Attention to detail and strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to dust, fumes and chemicals such as oil, grease, paint, vehicle exhaust, steel and aluminum welding fumes, etc.
  • Ability to access equipment at various levels by reaching or climbing a ladder, bend over, walk, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
