R&D Tech@Lilly unites science with technology to accelerate the LRL (Lilly Research Laboratories) pipeline and deliver therapeutic innovations. As a member of the R&D Tech@Lilly organization, you will have the opportunity to work in a highly technical and fast-paced team in a scientifically challenging area responsible for clinical product delivery transformation agenda to support an ever-changing research and development environment.
Within Tech@Lilly, Product Delivery delivers critical systems and support to help speed innovation to patients through planning, manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and dispensation of the right product to the right patient at the right time, every time.
The Technical Pathway Program is a 24-month intensive fixed duration (FDE) professional development program during which the apprentice receives a combination of formal training, on-the-job learning, and mentoring in a key functional area to be equipped to compete for a Lilly position after successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
As a Service Reliability Engineer in R&D Tech@Lilly, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, availability, and performance of our services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, implement best practices, and ensure our systems are running smoothly. Additionally, you will be responsible for security related support activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain the health of our services and infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents to minimize downtime and impact on users.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement reliability improvements.
Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
Document processes, procedures, and incident reports to ensure knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Assist in updating and maintaining security plans to ensure compliance with company policies.
Implement basic security measures to protect systems and data.
Monitor security alerts and respond to potential threats.
Basic Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for these positions.
HS Diploma or equivalent
Previous IT support or security related experience
Preferred Skills:
Strong interest in technology and a passion for learning.
Familiarity with monitoring tools and incident management practices.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g. ComTIA Security+)
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, GitHub).
Additional Information:
Ability to participate in on-call rotations and work flexible hours as needed.
