Cardinal Health Director Warehouse Operations in Greenwood, South Carolina

Our North American Medical Supply Chain business is currently looking for a Director of Operations to lead our Greenwood Replenishment Center (GWRC) operations located in Greenwood, SC.

The GWRC is 1 of 9 RCs that make up the Cardinal Health North American Medical Supply Chain Replenishment Center (RC) network. The GWRC is co-located with the Greenwood Manufacturing plant and is the primary distribution point for 100% of incontinence product manufactured in the plant. Greenwood has a national service geography. The RC services all 34 Medical forward distribution centers (FDC) in the US, all At-Home FDCs in the US, and all US-based Channel Partners Group customers. The GWRC is approximately 285,000 square-feet, with over 13,800 full pallet locations. The successful candidate will have direct/indirect responsibility for approximately 70 hourly and 5 salaried employees. Direct responsibility for an operating expense budget of $10 million, indirect responsibility for a transportation budget of > $30M, and for proper control and management of $13M in Cardinal brand inventory.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • The Greenwood RC recently transitioned to the AIMS WMS operating platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing execution on AIMS to meet business case requirements. The Director will work closely with other RC Directors on AIMS execution optimization.

  • Total pipeline logistics, planning, employee engagement, and development to include management of Inbound, Outbound, Quality Inventory Control, EHS, QRA, Sox Compliance, transportation, and maintenance of facility and grounds.

  • Work collaboratively and closely with the Directors of Operations for the FDCs serviced by the GWRC. Hold regular quality sessions with the FDC and At-Home management teams.

  • Work collaboratively with the Cardinal Channel Partners Group (CPG) team to ensure optimum service to CPG customers. Closely monitor delivered quality metrics for CPG and execute on continuous improvement plans as required to address deficiencies.

  • Work with Inventory Planning, marketing, and COE Logistics on manufacturing planning, inventory management, and transportation management.

  • P&L responsibility

  • Oversee inventory management to in three different systems that are connected through automated and manual processes.

  • Manages a staff of employees to ensure the timely distribution and receipt of product while meeting the Distribution Center standards of budget, policies, procedures, and quality.

  • Effectively partner and collaborate with Manufacturing Director to align production schedules up against inbound / outbound operations.

  • Responsible for developing the skill sets (technical and leadership) of all RC leaders (exempt and non-exempt) through coaching, training, effective/efficient performance and behavior feedback all the while role modeling top notch leadership

  • Monitors warehouse productivity, adheres to budget requirements, and works towards obtaining Distribution Center objectives and operations goals.

  • Coordinates the maintenance of warehouse equipment, guiding both preventive maintenance programs and coordinating all necessary repairs.

  • Ensures that warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform the distribution functions. Recommends and implements programs, policies, and strategies to increase production and efficient space utilization within the facility.

  • Implements and administers all policies and procedures.

  • Ensures quality service is provided to customers, and ensures prompt follow-through on customer correspondence, complaints and inquiries related to the shipment of merchandise and stock-on-hand.

  • Lead the Lean Six Sigma efforts at the site (continuously act as the Lean champion)

  • Continually looking for problems within the processes to solve (go see, identify root causes, implement countermeasures and control)

  • Plan, implement and complete all required leadership and technical training for all exempt and non-exempt associates

  • Handles general employee inquiries and resolves concerns in a timely fashion.

  • Prepares and submits daily and weekly production reports.

  • Ensures that the corporation’s Core Values are consistently promoted and practiced.

  • Works with peers within and outside the region on national projects as needed.

  • Attends customer business reviews to present operations status.

  • Participates in customer initiatives and provides operations input.

  • Builds strong teams by providing opportunities for growth and development.

  • Host various teams at the facility, both internal and external, and provide facility support as needed.

  • Continue to look for creative ways to improve the facility and operations through established standards and new ideas.

  • Helps build up VOE Scores by promoting employee engagement in solutions and improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ supervisory and management experience preferred

  • Previous leadership experience at Director or Site Operations level

  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills

  • Experience in medical distribution or other FDA regulated industry preferred

  • Previous experience with Lean Six Sigma desired

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (PkMS/Manhattan) and ERP systems (SAP/TPM)

Anticipated base salary range: $103,700 - $165,000

  • The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
