BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As a Software Engineer III – SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) , you will work with Software Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement of system reliability. Establish a system of monitoring and alerting to measure reliability over time and identify customer impacting issues in a timely manner to help teams operate within their error budgets. You will provide technical assistance and advice on existing software solutions.

Design and implement new functionality that is testable and performant with limited oversight and guidance following best practices and approved code patterns.
Apply object oriented and computer science fundamental principles to coding tasks.
Raise defects in code reviews.
Contribute to technical requirements and technical design documents.
Develop and maintain technical documentation.
Debugs or makes minor enhancements to existing software
Understand programs according to functional and non-functional requirements
Reviews and provides input into development standards
Serves as an escalation point to resolve incidents and problems for production applications and web services supported by the team in accordance with identified Service Level Objectives
Collaborates with internal customers, technical, and architecture teams to solve complex software problems
Provides general system users and management with system analysis and feedback
Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements
Mentors and coaches less experienced staff
Maximizes the efficiency of the various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing, and auditing new software programs
Participates in continuous performance improvement and root cause analysis sessions to discuss opportunities to improve processes, system reliability, and standards
Analyzes and resolves computer related problems by coordinating with in-house personnel to diagnose and fix operational issues, as well as consulting, advising, and training on specialized features and functions
Follows established configuration/change control processes
Helps to reduce toil
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
Experience :
Database Management Systems – 1-3+ years
Coding, testing, and designing software – 1-3+ years
Software Development Methodologies – 1-3+ years
Education:
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of one major programming language/tool
Demonstrated knowledge of coding language and syntax, usage of functions and object-oriented patterns
Knowledge of environments, docker images, container runtimes, and cloud native app development
Knowledge of dependent systems, e.g., up/downstream APIs, clients, data stores, CI/CD Pipelines
Knowledge of design patterns and frameworks
Skills:
Showcases Project / Feature level work to their team and technical leadership
Basic negotiation skills
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Abilities:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
Ability to apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
Ability to work under general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments
Ability to break down assigned projects into manageable tasks and completes within a given timeframe
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively without oversight

The base pay for this position generally is between $78,900.00 and $139,500.00 . The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
