Role Definition

Processes job requisitions and provides support for supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.

Responsibilities

Participates in scheduling production and delivery processes in accordance with current productivity and cost efficiency standards.

Develops and executes material planning for a product line to ensure that all material requirements for assigned programs are met within the allocated time frame.

Organizes the flow of materials within the manufacturing unit and the transferring of materials to and from the inventory or warehouse.

Generates forecasts and manages replenishment planning for parts and materials to ensure specified service levels are met.

Schedules, plan and oversees material procurement, production and delivery processes.

Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.

• Assists in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity.

• Uses tools, with guidance, to forecast delivery times, determine costs and assess performance.

• Maintains records of all shipments and invoices using an established system.

• Participates in integrating logistics processes and developing effective networks.

• Works with logistics in a domestic environment.

Procurement: Knowledge of buying and procurement; ability to work with organizational strategies and practices, and use tools for buying goods, supplies, equipment and services needed to conduct business.

Level Working Knowledge:

• Works with the procurement of services, materials or equipment.

• Follows established procedures, documentation requirements and approval level requests to conduct procurement activities.

• Interprets benefits, issues and considerations of using e-procurement.

• Uses available procurement systems and tools in transactions with approved suppliers.

• Assists in reviewing the fulfillment of administrative and documentation requirements for the completion of purchase.

Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.

Level Working Knowledge:

• Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions.

• Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain.

• Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products or components.

• Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.

• Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.
