SUMMARY: Join our growing team as an Automation Engineer and play a pivotal role in executing successful automation projects and initiatives across the building product plants. Reporting to the Capital Manager, you'll leverage your engineering expertise to enhance operational efficiency, drive autonomous solutions, and support safety initiatives. Your technical experience, project management skills, and collaborative mindset will ensure seamless equipment and systems implementation. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop the automation strategic plan across the organization and align team's goals. Directly manage and develop automation team members to enhance skillsets and overall team's success. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying operational optimization and efficiency opportunities and refining capital processes. Create and present project businesses proposals to meet strategic business plan. Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments for informed decision-making and resource allocation. Lead planning, coordination, and execution of outsourced automation projects to enhance manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and business expansion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, objectives, and timelines aligned with organizational goals. Prepare detailed program plans encompassing budgets, schedules, resources, and procurement strategies. Manage project execution, monitoring progress, addressing challenges, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Drive vendor selection and oversee supplier relationships, ensuring timely equipment and material delivery within budget limits. Utilize engineering principles to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during project implementation and post-commissioning. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, offering technical insights, recommendations, and training on equipment operation and maintenance. Document project outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices for knowledge sharing and future reference. Compile and submit authorization for expenditure documentation. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors of Science degree in Automation, Electrical or other related engineering discipline. 10+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years in managerial roles. 5+ years of progressive experience in automation and capital project management, engineering design, and equipment integration. Ability to motivate teams to meet goals within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Working knowledge of PLC/HMI programming, specifically Ladder Logic, and industrial robots (FANUC, ABB, KUKA). Proficiency in project management methodologies, scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication. Strong problem-solving skills, with effective troubleshooting and resolution of technical challenges. Excellent written and verbal communication for technical documentation and effective interaction. Strong leadership skills to ensure projects are completed per schedule, budget, and scope.
