THE POSITION As a customer service-oriented Network Engineer Associate for DISN Consolidated Provisioning in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves supporting the provisioning lifecycle from order entry to circuit activation, including customer outreach, QoS configuration, and facilities engineering. Ensure DISN network infrastructure's functionality and efficiency, supporting operational needs, and maintaining system availability for mission partners. RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Support: Offering high-level technical assistance for network infrastructure and administrative tasks, utilizing expertise in DISA systems and software-intensive solutions. Infrastructure Management: Managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure requirements for both classified and non-classified networks, overseeing design, implementation, and optimization efforts. Architectural Implementation: Designing and implementing network architecture to support present and future requirements, ensuring cross-functional compatibility and adherence to open systems standards. Systems Analysis: Analyzing complex technology development and acquisition issues, proposing solutions to ensure mission readiness and compliance with industry standards. Administration and Optimization: Administering network servers and components for optimal performance, coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain configurations and privilege sets. Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicating across diverse teams, both verbally and in writing, to prepare documentation, technical specifications, and facilitate collaboration on network-related tasks. Client Engagement: Engaging with clients and network teams to develop solutions, conduct Root Cause Analysis, implement resolutions, and monitor results to enhance contract performance and customer satisfaction. Problem Resolution: Evaluating network usage, organization, and planning to develop corrective actions, collaborating with internal teams, customers, and vendors to address communication requirements. Design and Implementation: Utilizing design tools to project network usage, proposing technical and cost-effective solutions for multiple networks, and implementing network management systems. System Maintenance: Performing diagnostics, software upgrades, installations, and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal network performance and reliability. Continuous Improvement: Applying technical expertise to identify improvements, anticipate customer requirements, and oversee system upgrades, adhering to innovation and quality processes. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety, security, and worksite access protocols, completing required training and certifications, and fulfilling other assigned duties and projects.
