The Senior Pediatric Occupational Therapist performs as senior staff clinician in his/her cost center(s) by utilizing the skills of an experienced occupational therapist.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Senior Pediatric Occupational Therapist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
Performs all functions associated with the evaluation of patients for all age groups within the department's responsibility.
Performs all functions associated with the execution of therapeutic treatment for all age groups within the department's responsibility.
Completes all documentation required within the regarded timeline according to department.
Serves as clinical resources in case management to all non-senior occupational therapists on staff.
Assists department management in the development, coordination and implementation of new programs that will enhance the department's scope of services to serve the needs of the community.
Provides department management feedback regarding procedural, programmatic and staff concerns.
Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy school.
2 years previous experience.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Occupational Therapist License.:
Working Conditions:
- Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
