Job Title: Medical Assistant Front Office

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our front office team. The ideal candidate will utilize Medent as an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, welcome patients, manage the appointment calendar, handle incoming calls, verify insurance, assist with check-in and check-out procedures, maintain patient records, process insurance claims, assist with patient examinations, and provide information to patients about treatments and post-procedure care. Additionally, the role involves ordering and managing medical supplies and working with healthcare providers to ensure efficient office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Medent as EMR for patient records.

  • Welcome patients as they arrive, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.

  • Manage the appointment calendar, schedule patient visits, and coordinate with medical staff availability.

  • Handle incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate personnel, and address patient inquiries.

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copayments.

  • Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all necessary forms are completed.

  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

  • Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billing.

  • Assist with patient examinations, take vital signs, and prepare patients for procedures.

  • Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories and records.

  • Provide patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure care.

  • Order and manage medical supplies and equipment.

  • Work with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with EMR systems, particularly Medent.

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant.

  • High volume patient care experience.

  • Knowledge of front office procedures and computer savvy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred but not required. Candidates with outdated or expired certifications will be considered.

  • Ability to float to different office locations as needed.
