Description

Description:Person in this position will be responsible for the delivery of vocational and educational guidance to Veterans participating in the program. Primary function will be doing outreach in the community to develop relationships with employers, universities and associations to increase employment opportunities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare lesson plans, administer interest inventories and other appropriate testing/screening/assessment tolls and instruct Veterans in vocational skills, including interviewing, resume writing, work behaviors, work skills;

• Evaluate and monitor Veterans vocational/occupational skills performance;

• Assist clients in securing and maintaining employment;

• Work with outside agencies, local business, schools to coordinate further training or job placement;

• Work with local employers, vocational rehabilitation and other groups to develop appreciate community employment positions;

• Complete documentation of services;

• Provide input into Veterans services needs and disposition;

• Assist as needed in a collaborative manner to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community;

• Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation; and

• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED plus equivalent experience in similar position preferred.
