What you will do

As a Hardware Leader - Powertrain, you’ll lead the planning of New Part releases and support our Geometrical Architects with CAD module planning. The main objective is to plan prototype builds for projects as well as lead and coordinate the prototype hardware for the builds. These must be the correct parts and delivered on time - including required vehicle-owned installation parts.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hardware, verified by GAE, for builds according to the build plan, agreed within the projects.

  • Lead part planning meetings with Product Builds team, Technology teams, PM purchasing, PM operations, PM engineering.

  • Assist project in taking decisions to secure hardware deliveries to keep the build plan.

  • Continuously provide the project management team with status reports.

  • Be part of packaging review meetings, where required, in order to guide and support hardware decisions.

  • Support the PME with Design Review activities. Together with PME and sub-system PLs agree upon the agenda and the scope from each PL.

  • Support Product Change Request (PCR) activities to secure the release plan.

  • Deliver MR for hardware rebuilds according to build plan.

  • Drive BOM review process with support from Technology Teams, Product Builds and Verification Leaders.

  • Support project planning.

  • Support the Documentation leader with creation of Object Number Structure & Item to Variant Specification.

Your future team

The Legacy Team is responsible for support of all three Powertrain Product Streams (11L/13L TC, 13L VGT, Alternative Powertrains), including: engine, driveline, and exhaust aftertreatment systems. Working with the technology teams, we own the system architectural and documentation solutions for the complete powertrain. We drive the prototype engine builds for all projects. We lead remanufactured product development, as well as provide technical support to aftermarket and production.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field

  • 5-8+ years of related experience

  • 4+ years of product development process experience

  • Experience with Kola and Protom

  • Good knowledge of Windows Office package, strong Excel skills

  • Project management experience is a plus
