About you and this role

In this role, you will support St. Charles Operations and Greensburg Operations. You will support leaders and employees at both locations to deliver against the people strategy, maintaining partnership and relevance to drive business results and will be part of a larger HR Partner organization that supports North America as a region.

You will be required to gain an understanding of the business and corporate culture, drive change initiatives, communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, develop trusting relationships, and provide valuable feedback that enhances performance for all. You will report to the US South HR Partner Leader and work within a network of other HR & LR Partners, as well as with other parts of the HR model which include HR Solutions and the HR Center of Expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and educate leaders on direct partnership philosophy.

  • Audit compliance with ethics programs & procedures, investigate complaints, and verify that deficiencies are corrected.

  • Display thorough knowledge of policy and legislation to provide professional guidance and support in complex policy interpretation and employee relations issues.

  • Adopt a proactive approach towards regulation. Help to ensure policies are appropriately maintained, communicated and understood across the organization at the site, in order to improve compliance and promote positive employee relations.

  • Evaluate risk associated with employee relations issues to develop and advise on options.

  • Assist with employee workforce strategy and implementation for all organizational changes.

  • Partner and consult to understand relevant client strategies and how they are activated through the people agenda.

  • Integrate the relevant client strategy into the broader business/functional/site strategy.

  • Build leadership capability - serve as a coach to people leaders on talent and talent decisions.

  • Provide expert advice and coaching to leaders and employees when appropriate.

  • Ensure that a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization.

  • Focus on run the business needs and the 1-3 year plans of the Organization.

  • Connect, redirect and consult with people leaders on the portfolio of HR solutions to solve business needs.

  • Resolve complex problems by applying in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of HR partner processes and has at least intermediate knowledge of all other HR disciplines.

  • Lead projects and/or steps of projects with manageable risks and resource requirements and may be accountable for ongoing activities or objectives.

  • Serve as resource for less experienced colleagues and works independently with minimal guidance.

  • Understand best practices and how HR processes relate to others.

  • May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.

  • Explain difficult or sensitive information and handle sensitive people issues and work to build consensus.

  • Examine information from multiple sources and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions.

  • Performance impacts a range of clients, projects, or activities within own team and other related teams.

  • Create a strong client focus with an employee experience mindset.

  • Apply and advise on relevant local laws and regulations related to employee relations.

  • Drive organizational productivity and engagement.

  • Lead strategy and participate on the Site leadership team(s).

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degreeor relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant working experience.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

  • A degree discipline in Human Resources, Industrial/Labor Relations, Business Administration, Engineering, or other related field.

  • 6+ years of Human Resources experience.

  • Experience leading large change initiatives.

  • Client facing experience.

  • Expertise in employee relations management.

  • Ability to analyze data and situations, make recommendations and assist with implementation.

  • Ability to build solid relationships with clients through expertise and consultation.

  • Knowledge of U.S. employment laws.

  • Excellent interpersonal effectiveness skills, including but not limited to conflict resolution, effective two-way communication, negotiation skills.

  • Strong relationship, partnership, and consultancy skills.

Note: Domestic relocation is available for this role and may be provided based on eligibility.
