The Clinical Director will lead and oversee the implementation of gambling disorder services within the organization's SUD and MH treatment programs. The Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring that these services are integrated into the broader clinical operations and delivered in accordance with evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and MI. They will manage a team of clinicians, including the Gambling Disorder Clinician, and ensure that clinical services, case management, and psycho-education for individuals with gambling disorders are provided effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of gambling disorder treatment services.

  • Ensure the integration of gambling disorder services into the existing SUD and MH programs.

  • Provide leadership in clinical strategy development and quality assurance for gambling treatment programs.

  • Ensure clinicians use EBPs, i.e., CBT, DBT, & MI, to address the needs with COD gambling, MH, & SUD.

  • Supervise the Gambling Disorder Clinician & any additional clinical/support staff involved in the program.

  • Develop treatment plans, ensuring that gambling services are aligned with EBPs.

  • Organize & oversee staff training related to gambling disorder screening, assessment, & treatment.

  • Ensure that all clinical staff are trained in cultural competency and deliver services that meet the National CLAS (Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services) standards.

  • Lead efforts to ensure clinical quality, compliance with DMHAS requirements, & positive client outcomes.

  • Regularly review program data and outcomes, implementing quality improvement initiatives as necessary.

  • Compliance with licensing & contractual requirements and required DMHAS data collection & reporting.

  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including the Council on Compulsive Gambling, to ensure clients receive appropriate aftercare and peer recovery support.

  • Collaborate with community organizations to facilitate referrals & access to recovery-supporting services,

  • Lead efforts to reduce disparities in access & treatment outcomes that services are inclusive and accessible.

  • Develop & implement a diversity inclusion plan for the clinical team, ensuring equitable service delivery.

  • Proper clinical documentation of screening, assessment, treatment planning, & case management.

  • Oversee the collection and submission of required data for program evaluation and reporting to DMHAS.

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.

  • Licensed as an LPC, LCSW, or equivalent, with specialized experience in gambling disorder treatment.

  • Certification in Clinical Supervision (e.g., Approved Clinical Supervisor [ACS] or equivalent certification).

  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical management experience, preferably in a mental health or substance use treatment setting.

  • Certification or willingness to pursue certification in gambling counseling (ICGC I or II).

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with evidence-based practices like CBT, MI, and DBT
