Job Title:

CDL Drivers Class A or B and Common Laborer (Full-Time)

Job Summary:

The Common Laborer will perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of workers on the highway construction site.

Reports to:

Jr. Foreman and/or Foreman

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties and Responsibilities:

Able to operate hand tools and power tools of all types

Able to listen, understand, and follow directions.

Able to learn how to haul, operate, load and unload construction equipment

Able to dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction

Able to set up traffic control devices such as cones, signs and barricades etc..

Help to maintain a clean and safe job site

Perform other related and non-related duties as assigned

Regular and timely attendance

Required skills and abilities.

Ability to learn how to operate basic construction equipment

Must have a valid Texas driver's license and CDL Class A or Class B License

Must be able to drive a Manual Truck and Tanker Endorsement

Must be able pass a Motor Vehicle Record check with minimal infractions

Must be able to pass a physical

Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings

Must be able to travel and work overtime, weekends and nights as needed and out of town

Must always wear all proper PPE require in the field.

80% as a laborer and 20% at CDL Driver

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions

Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.

Must be able to lift and carry 80 LBS, and push and or pull/ up to 50 LBS always.

Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Exposure to noise, fumes, vibrations, and heights

Exposure to prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling, and climbing

Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.

Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
