Siemens Energy Cost Estimator in Hamilton Township, New Jersey

A Snapshot of Your Day

Evaluate request for quotes (RFQ) coming from Sales and Marketing to determine cost and lead time associated with the potential sales orders. Quicky return quotes back to regional sales contacts via SAP as well as facilitate handoff off quotes to operational procurement team.

Investigate opportunities to improve quoting process speed as well as drive cost savings initiatives. Become cross trained as an operational buyer to enable a flexible supply chain workforce.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Receive and interpret requests for quotes from our regional sales team.

  • Utilize product knowledge and provide tools to estimate cost and lead time for the quoted part(s).

  • Solicit internal Siemens-Energy and 3rd party vendors for quotes on OEM and fully machined components.

  • Communicate with the Sales and Marketing department with completed quote.

  • Ensure this quoted information is properly recorded and passed to our operational procurement team.

  • Drive cost savings initiatives by working on standardized prices for our various products sets

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in understanding how a bill of material/router works or similar.

  • Possess general industrial manufacturing experience / knowledge primarily for tight tolerance machined parts.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications and blueprints.

  • Strong knowledge of purchasing fundamentals including solicitation of bids and negotiation. As well as SAP experience.

  • Ability to assess priorities, demonstrate flexibility and understand sense of urgency requirements.

  • Occasional travel of 10-15% may be required domestically.

This job is based in New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://benefitsatenergy.com/thinking-of-joining.html . The base salary range for this position if based in New York is $91,700-$142,700 with a potential 10% bonus. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individuals' qualifications
