Copper Shores Community Health Foundation Staff Accountant in Hancock, Michigan

Copper Shores Community Health Foundation seeks a detail-oriented Staff Accountant *to join their finance team in *Hancock, Michigan. In this role, you'll help maintain accurate financial records, support budgeting and auditing processes, and ensure we stay compliant with financial regulations. Your work will be vital in helping us achieve our mission through strong financial management.

WHAT WE OFFER.

  • $57,000 -- $65,000 annual starting salary based on experience.

  • Full-time, Monday--Friday position generally working 8:30am -- 4:30pm.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts with precision.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to keep our records up-to-date.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
  • Process invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Track and manage incoming donations, grants, and accounts receivable.
  • Issue receipts and statements to our valued donors.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget and monitor compliance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support internal and external audits with thorough documentation.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather and analyze financial data.
  • Help develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support our organizational decisions.
  • Participate in trainings and meetings to continue your professional growth.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3 or more year's of accounting experience.
  • CPA certification with experience in non-profit accounting, a bonus.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in contributing to a better and healthier world.
