IUPAT Junior Business Analyst in Hanover, Maryland

Description/Job Summary

The Junior Business Analyst will be responsible for assisting with technology and business projects at IUPAT. Specifically, the individual will assist with design confirmation, business process analysis and improvement, test management and execution, operational readiness, and integration. This individual follow best practices and advise based on expertise with member management system processes, system implementation experience, and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle. The Junior Business Analyst will work closely with the Lead Business Analyst and subject matter experts to ensure design, testing, and cut-over activities are properly executed. He/she will assist with standards and be responsible to execute test plans. The incumbent interacts with a diverse group of individuals including management, business partners, affiliates and other systems users.

Responsibilities/Duties

Work with multiple teams within the company to provide critical information to be used in strategic planning and decision making

Analyze, understand, and document various business processes.

Familiar understanding of the SDLC, Agile methodologies, and software development best practices.

Locate and define new and old process improvement opportunities

Manage communications with stakeholders, dev team, and vendors, generates status updates, writes reports and post mortems, etc.

Establish and maintains positive team and end user relationship and ensures overall stakeholder satisfaction.

Ability to identify poor or missing requirements and/or data specifications.

Responsible for confirming quality assurance has been completed on all projects.

Respond to users' needs, document, plan and coordinate the resolution to their issues.

Effectively and efficiently communicates users' requirements to ensure they are correctly translated in Functional Requirement documents.

Works with development team to ensure on time and on budget delivery of projects.

Complete special projects as requested

Required Experience

Experience in member management software

Experience with System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Project Management tools (JIRA)

Ability to do mockup, wireframe and prototype design (Axsure)

Excellent writing, communication and analytical skills

Ability to rapidly learn software tools as required (Google Workspace)

Experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM) tools (Visio. ProcessMaker, etc)

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or another relevant field

Details

Approximately 80% of the day is spent using the computer. Working environment is the typical office atmosphere. Incumbent is on call to provide support services during off hours. Incumbent is continuously faced with a number of projects considered to be high priority. Project work must continue while assuring that day-to-day operations continue and technical problems are resolved. Technological changes require continuing skill level upgrades via trade journals, Internet-based communication, and course work. Scheduled night and weekend work is required. Forty (40) hours constitutes the regular work week. The working hours will be eight (8) with a 30-minute lunch break per day. Flex time window applicable (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.). However, flex window hours are subject to change to assigned start time(s) based on departmental needs.

Moderate lifting may be required.
