Are you ready to step up to be a CFO? My client is a middle market, stable and very successful construction firm with a CFO who is looking to groom a replacement. If you are an experienced Controller or Director of Accounting or Director of Finance who feels you have all the skills, just not those three letters, this is your opportunity to get them. Responsibilities will include:
Be a business partner to the owner.
Create a financial strategy for the company and ensure that it is followed from top to bottom.
Build long-term, annual and short-term financial plans.
Create dashboards so leadership can see real-time results, trends and profitability for the company, division, and individual jobs.
Manage the data at every level of the ERP.
Oversee the accounting, tax and finance functions of the business including managing external service provider relationships.
Manage the treasury function, ensuring cash is both available for operations and maximizing investment opportunities.
Build and mentor the team so everyone is prepared as the company continues to grow.
Requirements
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role such as Controller, VP or Director of Finance or similar.
• Demonstrated proficiency in construction accounting software systems is necessary.
• Strong understanding of CapEx is essential.
• Must be adept at performing accounting functions and auditing tasks.
• Extensive experience managing budget processes is crucial.
• Proven expertise in capital management is a must.
• Proficiency in conducting cash flow analysis is required.
• Must possess excellent leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
• Must have the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; an MBA or relevant master's degree is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CPA or similar are highly desirable.
• Must have a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
• Strong business acumen, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are necessary.
• Must have the ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style are required.
