Aerotek Mechanical Assembler in Hanover Park, Illinois

Description:

The following essential functions describe the nature of this position and represent the major criteria that will define the time/ work spent in this role: 1. (40%) – SYSTEM ASSEMBLY a. He/ She shall assemble the specific appointed “job” per technical drawings/ documents. b. Validate proper function of mechanical assembly for system flow and structural layout. c. Direct Supervisor: Mechanical Shop Supervisor/ Director of Production 2. (30%) – SYSTEM FABRICATION a. He/ She will provide fabrication service on the shop floor to ensure the production schedule is met. This can be provided in the following manners: working on new projects, building system subassemblies, or building specific engineering designs. b. They shall be able to shift focus when applicable per direct supervisor and complete the custom fabrications in a timely manner per production timeline. 3. (15%) – TECHNICAL APPLICATION OF BUILD a. A key aspect of this role is to represent and uphold QC (Quality Control) of the build through constant review of the Technical Documents provided in the jobs’ work packages. b. This person shall interpret and provide necessary feedback of mechanical specific design when proper mechanical functionality is at question. c. This person shall demonstrate a strong working knowledge of mechanical fabrication to ensure the quality of the system is upheld and the system is built to engineered specifications. 4. (10%) – MACHINING a. He/ She shall be able to perform basic mechanical machining required to fabricate and assemble the appointed job per the work package. This includes, but is not limited to drilling, grinding, tapping, cutting, and altering. b. Primary Materials of use: PVC/CPVC and 316SS. 5. (5%) – QAQC/ TECHNICAL DOCUMENT SUPPORT a. An emphasis of this role is to ensure the accuracy of the build and document necessary changes on the technical drawings. b. He/ She shall be expected to maintain proper QC cleanliness and material control of their workplace and specifically towards the job in fabrication (i.e., parts match model #, proper material usage, serializing where necessary).
