Child Development Council of NEPA Early Childhood Teacher in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania
This is an Early Childhood Teacher position. Teachers plan and implement a hands on curriculum for our children ages 6 months to 5 years of age.* The salary level is commensurate on experience and education in early childhood field. Teachers must have at least a two or four year degree in ECE or a related field. You must have *at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood or a related field for this position. This person must be able to relate well to children and have a desire to work with very young children. Must be able to work as a team with other teachers and have a positive attitude towards early childhood education.
Tasks:
- Planning the learning environment in cooperation with other teachers, setting up interest areas, and preparing the needed materials and supplies in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the Council and based on The Creative Curriculum and research-based practices.
- Provide a developmentally appropriate educational program based on individual interests, culture, abilities.
- Positively interacting with children all through the day including during family style meals
- Actively engaging with children while on the playground
- Maintaining attendance records, daily written communication with families regarding meals, activities; anecdotal and portfolio-based recording of individual growth and development, assessing the developmental progress of the children
- Conducting parent conferences or assisting at them focusing on children's academic progress and behavioral needs
- Treating children with dignity and respect
- Providing an aesthetically pleasing and clean learning environment/ assisting in the maintenance of the school
- Working with all Center staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
Full time staff must be available for a shift between 6:30 and 5:30. We are a full year program.
