UTZ Quality Foods Inc Part Time Quality Assurance Technician - Weekend Day in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 5001065553500 Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team and is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician to work from our manufacturing facility located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This position will work from our NEW Weekend Day crew. The required hours are Saturday-Sunday 6AM-6PM with opportunity for additional voluntary hours. The Quality Assurance Technician will support the production efforts to produce a wholesome and quality product under the company's Standard Operating Procedures and assist the Production and Quality Supervisors to maintain production and quality processing standards. This position will be responsible for auditing, monitoring and testing raw materials and finished products. In addition to the direct responsibilities, the Quality Assurance Technician will support maintaining all Sanitation Operating Procedures, GMP's, Food Safety and a safe environment throughout our productive process. Key Responsibilities Communicates directly with all appropriate associates regarding test results and corrective actions as needed. Keeps Quality Assurance Supervisor informed of all quality issues. Performs one or more of the following tests, and others as specified: - Maintains documentation of all tests and special projects in specified locations. Moisture (via direct and/or indirect methods) Salt/sodium/potassium using the Dicromat, Omnion or silver titration Oil via near infrared methods Free fatty acids via direct and auto titrations, Caustic cooker titrations Wheat flour analysis, slice thickness and count per pound Product specific defect levels and product breakage Package net weight and package seal integrity Residual oxygen in packages Adheres to a specific frequency of product testing. The test schedule can vary pending specific quality issues that may arise. Keeps laboratory, equipment and supplies clean and organized. Provides technical guidance to Packers or other associates that provide support during various times of the year. Maintains an ongoing log of incoming raw materials identifying supplier, product identification, date received, supplier lot number, and approval vs. COA. Ingredient suppliers and lot numbers shall be recorded on appropriate daily Q.C. finished product inspection forms. Assists in in-house associate surveys to help guide the development of product improvements/new products and ingredient cost reduction projects. Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position. Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people and a willingness to perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Requires basic math and reading skills. Must be willing and able to stand 100% of the time Requires knowledge of product quality and production processes. Prior experience working with quality in a food setting. Prior knowledge of food manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices. Moderate lifting (40lbs). Continuously Pursuing Excellence!
