The PDE provides oversight to over 100 sub grantees across the commonwealth who are recipients of 21st CCLC grant funding. The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) provides after school programs for children from low-income households. This position gives you the opportunity to provide advisory and consultative services to local education agencies, higher education institutions, businesses and industries, as well as community-based organizations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This is professional work in the administration of K-12 statewide 21st Century Community Learning Center after-school programs for low-income at-risk children. The programs provide a diversity of services including academic enrichment, cultural and recreational activities, mentoring, character education, and parental involvement programming. An employee in this class is responsible for educational advisory and program review services in establishing, improving, or expanding pre-elementary, elementary, and/or secondary educational, and educationally related programs. Work involves conducting educational projects to evaluate new or innovative techniques or to utilize the latest research findings and theories in basic education. Employees provide advice, assistance, and direction to school administrators and teachers in complying with federal and state laws and regulations and in developing, preparing, and/or approving proposals for Federal funding to improve basic education programs throughout the state. Work is performed independently under the general direction of a supervisor through staff conferences and a written analysis report for adherence to established policies and objectives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Travel will be required. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office on Tuesday each week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:New hires to the commonwealth will start at the minimum salary rate. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of professional experience in the field of education; or Any equivalent combination of experience.
