Would you enjoy a challenging, yet rewarding work environment fulfilling a wide range of duties?  If so, The Department of Education, Division of Adult Education, is seeking an Administrative Officer 1 to contribute valuable knowledge and skills within our agency!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Officer 1 in the Division of Adult Education, you will be responsible for all aspects of the fiscal and administrative activities related to federal and state funds appropriated to the division. The position requires communication and interaction with other division, deputate, and Department of Education staff; staff from other departments in the Commonwealth; local grant recipients; and the public.  This position requires a high level of attention to detail, precision, and accuracy.

This professional plays an important role in helping the adult basic education advisors and the division chief monitor and evaluate local grant recipients by reviewing and analyzing financial information submitted in grant budgets, division quarterly reports, and final expenditure reports.  The Administrative Officer 1 is responsible for identifying areas of concern related to these reports and bringing them to the advisors' attention.  Through this work, the Administrative Officer 1 helps to ensure fiscally sound use of taxpayer dollars to provide high-quality adult basic education services to residents of Pennsylvania.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.  You must report to the office every Wednesday and as directed by the supervisor.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
